Deputy Alan Maclean, Assistant Economic Development Minister is delighted with the results released over the weekend by Flybe that Jersey had achieved such a strong showing in the recent poll run by YouGov. Out of 14 categories Jersey was ranked first in three categories and second in five - effectively outperforming all fourteen destinations in Flybe's UK network.
Deputy Maclean said: “To be voted Best of British for walking, family holidays and for pavement café culture demonstrates that Jersey is ranked extremely highly by British consumers. The survey clearly highlights some of the characteristics that make Jersey such an appealing and special place, this is very good news, although we recognise the need to continue to work hard in supporting and developing our tourism industry”
Deputy Maclean continued: “These results are especially pleasing as they prove that Jersey is appealing to its key target markets. Local proprietor’s investment in alfresco drinking and eating establishments and the ongoing urban renewal programme is clearly appreciated by our visitors. The family market is extremely lucrative and important to us, and everyone living in Jersey knows how strong our walking product is.
It is very encouraging when one receives robust third party endorsement of Jersey – the YouGov survey polled more than 2,000 of its customers.”
