Transport and Technical Services will be constructing a pedestrian crossing point in the centre of St Aubin’s Inner Road near the main entrance to Millbrook Park, to assist pedestrians to cross the road safely. The preparation work, which will involve relocating an existing gas main and widening the road at the point where the crossing point is to be built, will commence on 7th March taking approximately 3 weeks. The refuge itself will be constructed at a later date when other utility company work in the area has been completed.
While the work is being done, it is essential to restrict all traffic to a single lane, controlled by traffic signals, to ensure safe working conditions for the Gas Company to relocate their gas main.
Delays to road users, particularly at morning and evening peak hours, will be unavoidable, while this improvement work takes place. Road users, particularly those who use St Peter’s Valley when travelling to and from St Helier, are advised to allow extra time for their journey or to use an alternative route such as Victoria Avenue and Route de la Haule, during the three weeks of traffic restrictions.
