The Parks and Gardens Section of Transport and Technical Services will be bringing down two lime trees on Wellington Road next week between Tuesday and Friday. Work will start after 9am and finish by 1pm and there will be temporary traffic signals in operation.
These trees need to be felled because they have a considerable amount of basal decay which will affect the stability of the trees and due to their size and proximity to the main road, they cause a potential danger to the public.
The work has been scheduled for the week after Easter to coincide with the school holidays and minimise disruption to traffic.
The trees will be replaced in the autumn.
