17 April 2007
The Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy
Guy de Faye
, is considering two bus schedule amendments to make more efficient use of the bus service, now that the Island Explorer Service is operational. He is inviting public comment to help form his decision.
The two proposals under consideration are:
1.
The permanent withdrawal of Service 8B (the Living Legend – Durrell – Gorey Pier – Jersey Potteries) from the summer schedules commencing on Sunday 27 May; and
2. Stopping the ‘K’ autumn shoulder services, which run for a 4 week period after the end of the summer schedules, normally covering October.
The Transport and Technical Services Department has proposed these changes after discussions with the bus operator, Connex, because they believe the routes are adequately covered by the Island Explorer Service which was introduced on 6 April 2007 and will run until 3 November 2007.
Comments regarding these proposals should be made in writing, by noon on Monday 30 April 2007, to Mrs C Anderson, Director of Transport, Transport and Technical Services Department, P O Box 412, South Hill Offices, St Helier, JE4 8UY or by email to
TTS@gov.je and marked for the attention of Mrs C Anderson.
