Mario Lundy, a former head teacher of Grainville School, has been appointed as the new Director of Education, Sport and Culture. He will take over from Tom McKeon who retires at the end of this year.
Mr Lundy, who is currently working as Assistant Director for Schools and Colleges, has worked in education in Jersey for almost 28 years. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the direction of education, sport and culture policies in the Island.
The post was advertised in both Jersey and the UK. Four candidates were invited to the final interview stage, at which Mr Lundy was successful.
