About the proposition
- Funding in 2008 for:
- An energy efficiency programme to cut Jersey’s impact on Climate Change - including expert advice and grant aid for home insulation and renewable energy solutions.
- Improved recycling – facilities in every parish, support for home composting and action on fridges, electrical goods and plastic bottles
- Improved transport – better bus services, more cycle routes, safer pedestrian routes to school and to work, and support for healthy living.
- Replacement of Vehicle Registration Duty in 2008 with an annual emissions duty on registered vehicles which is banded so that less polluting vehicles pay little or no duty and higher polluting vehicles pay a progressively higher duty
