Working day and night, aided by good weather, Ronez Ltd has laid over 2,400 tonnes of asphalt and replaced 13,500 m2 of road surfacing in just 12 weeks to finish the resurfacing La Route de Haule in good time for the tourist season. Detailed planning by Transport and Technical Services’ project team in close liaison with Ronez, allowed these potentially highly disruptive works to be completed smoothly with the minimum of delay to the 2,200 vehicles per hour using the road.
The road is now fully open to traffic, although over the next couple of weeks there will be minor finishing works. No disruption to traffic or residents is anticipated.
Guy de Faye
, Minister for Transport and Technical Services, said “Exhaustive planning of the traffic management was absolutely critical to the success of this project and it is this aspect of road works that I intend to continue to concentrate on improving.”
“I would like to thank all of those involved including Ronez for their efforts in ensuring the project went to plan, I would also like to give my personal thanks to all those affected by these essential works for their kind understanding and patience, particularly those residents and local businesses unavoidably disturbed by the works”.
