La Grande Route de St Pierre has now reopened to traffic. Working day and night, Brenwal Ltd has replaced 15,000 m2 of road surfacing in just 11 weeks to finish La Grande Route de St Pierre resurfacing works 2 weeks early, despite having to carry out significant additional urgent drainage repair works. Detailed planning by Transport and Technical Services’ engineers with their partner organisations, in close liaison with Brenwal and the Parishes of St Peter and ST Ouen, allowed these potentially highly disruptive additional works to be completed smoothly with the minimum of delay to traffic and residents.
Deputy
Guy de Faye
, Minister for Transport and Technical Services, said “I have been focused on improving the planning of the traffic management for road works in
Jersey
and it was this detailed planning that was critical to the success of this project”
“I would like to thank all those involved for their efforts in ensuring the project was kept on programme, despite the additional drainage works. I would also like to give my personal thanks to all those affected by these essential works for their kind understanding and patience, particularly those residents disturbed by the evening works”.
