18 April 2008
The Minister for Transport and Technical Services is asking the public for their views on some changes being proposed for the 2008 summer bus timetable which will start on Sunday 25 May. Most of these changes are being proposed to reduce current duplication of timings when two routes may reach the same stop at about the same time, schedules are being altered to allow the public a greater choice of departure time.on certain routes which will give a better service to the public. Other minor changes are for operational reasons so that a more efficient service can be provided.
The Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Guy de Faye, said “I have received some comments from passengers that there is a duplication of bus departures especially from Greve de Lecq and St Ouen’s on the Route 9 so I am proposing that the timings are changed to allow a more evenly spread service. I have already announced the changes to the 7A and 8A when I consulted on the Spring timetable but want to take this opportunity to remind the public that this change will happen on 25 May”.
The proposals were published in the Gazette part of the Jersey Evening Post on Friday 18 April and on the Travel and Transport section of the www.gov.je website and anyone wanting to make any comments on these is asked to do so by 1 May 2008.
