GCSE results published today indicate that Jersey students have achieved very good results in their GCSE examinations. The pass rate for A*, A, and B grades locally, are outstanding across the board and the pass rate for A* to G passes has reached an amazing 99.4%.
The Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, Deputy James Reed, said how pleased he was to see another set of excellent results from the Island schools.
“The GCSE results released this morning are excellent; the students have gained the results they deserve. They have shown yet again that money spent on Education is an ongoing investment in the Island’s future.
The Director of Education, Mario Lundy said he was delighted to see such good results,
“Another great set of results where a larger proportion of entries achieved 5 or more A* to C grades and A* to G grades than ever before. Of course the people who deserve the real credit here are the pupils who worked so hard, the teachers who guided their endeavours and the parents who have supported them.”
Education’s Head of Planning and Projects, Jim Westwater said: “All those involved in the education of these students have received just rewards for their efforts. Their success augurs very well for the future of the Island.”
