A family fun day will mark the opening of a new community room at Le Squez estate on Sunday 22 August.
The community room will be used by estate tenants for meetings, as a drop-in centre and, it is hoped, for computer classes in the future.
Housing Minister Deputy Sean Power will open the centre at 11am and the fun day, organised by the Le Squez Residents Association, will continue until 3pm.
In aid of the Hope for John charity, the fun will include live music, face painting, dancing, a BBQ and much more.
Treasury Minister Senator Philip Ozouf will also be there in the morning to answer questions as part of the ongoing personal taxation consultation.
Deputy Power said “The Housing Department is committed to working with tenants. Residents’ groups such as the Le Squez Association are a valuable part of providing opportunities for all residents to be involved in the long-term management of their communities. I am delighted to see this facility open and wish the residents every success with it.”
