A 3-month public consultation on the future of Jersey’s education system has been extended so Islanders have more time to submit their views.
A discussion paper called ‘Learning for Tomorrow’s World: The Future of Education in Jersey’ was published by the Education, Sport and Culture Minister, Deputy James Reed, in July. The original deadline for responses was 14 October but this has now been moved to 2 December giving Islanders an extra 7 weeks to respond.
The report outlines the structure of the current system, from nursery education to adult learning, and asks the public to comment on what, if anything, should change in the future. It contains a set of questions that readers can answer but respondents can submit comments by email, post or via Facebook.
Copies of the discussion paper can be downloaded from the education consultation page (see 'submit your comments' below), or are available to collect from the States Greffe Bookshop, Morier House and from your local parish hall.

Numbers at the meetings are limited so anyone interested in attending a specific meeting can reserve a place by emailing or calling the ESC department. Extra dates will be added if necessary to meet demand.
ESC officers are also holding smaller focus group meetings with specific stakeholders. Organisations who would like more information can contact the department by email.
