A man suffered burns to his hands after a chip pan fire at a flat in St Helier on Thursday (11 August).
The fire broke out at 3:50pm after the chip pan had been left unattended.
2 fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used a foam extinguisher to bring the fire under control.
The man was treated for his injuries at the scene.
Watch Manager Richard Ryan from the States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service is requesting Islanders change from a chip pan to a thermostatically controlled deep fat fryer or try oven chips.
