The States of Jersey Statistics Unit has today (15 June) released the year-end estimate of Jersey's population for 2011.
The latest report shows that at the end of 2011 Jersey's resident population was 98,000. During the calendar year 2011:
- the resident population increased by 900 people
- net inward migration accounted for 600 of this latest annual increase
- natural growth (the excess of births over deaths) accounted for the remaining 300
