The arrivals terminal at Jersey Airport is currently playing host to an international photographic exhibition organised by Durrell.
The photographic exhibition, which is funded by the European Commission EU-Zoos, aims to better engage with the public about the state of the planet and to try to reverse the trend of wildlife extinctions and habitat loss. Themes of the exhibition include:
- biodiversity
- invasive alien species
- ecological connectivity
- endangered species
The digital photographic exhibition features work from the top 15 short-listed artists with a variety of subject matter and interpretation on the categories.
Marketing and Communications Manager for Ports of Jersey, Alan Donald, says "Jersey Airport is delighted to once again host an exhibition of artwork on behalf of Durrell and we encourage anyone with an interest in wildlife preservation, to come along and view the magnificent work on display."
According to Durrell’s exhibition organiser, Lesley Lawrence, "We are very pleased to be able to display the final photographs in such a prime site at Jersey Airport so that they can be appreciated by both local residents and visitors to the Island. They truly are of international standard with work submitted from South Africa, Canada, Greece, Portugal, UK and of course Jersey."
