Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Paul Routier, will represent Jersey at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham between 7 and 10 October 2012.
The conference will be attended by delegates from the Conservative Party as well as representatives from charities, the private sector, political organisations and other jurisdictions, including Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
This will be the second consecutive year that Jersey has attended UK party conferences, signifying the Island’s continued commitment to enhancing political engagement with the UK.
The Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, attended the Labour Party conference in Manchester last week. The Assistant Chief Minister, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, attended the Liberal Democrats conference in Brighton at the end of September.
Senator Routier commented “I look forward to representing the Island at this important Coalition party conference. It is a valuable opportunity to talk to UK politicians in person on a broad range of issues.”
