07 October 2012
Connex employees are continuing their strike action today (Tuesday 9 October). The strike, which began yesterday, will continue to affect both the main network and the school bus service.
If you know of people who may be affected by the strike and who don't speak or read English, please update them with this strike action news.
Please check back here for further updates.
Making alternative travel arrangements
Further strike action will continue to affect both the main network and the school bus service. Parents should make alternative arrangements to enable their children to travel safely to and from school.
If a child is unable to travel to school then parents should contact their school for further information.
Advice for commuters
Transport and Technical Services (TTS) is offering advice to anyone affected by strike action:
- there may be more traffic on the roads so allow more time for your journey
- arrange to car share with a friend, colleague or neighbour
- consider walking or cycling
- if you want to use a taxi, book in advance to avoid disappointment
- consider working from home if you can
- Pier Road Multi Storey car park normally has space for 250 cars - there may be some spare capacity in Patriotic Street and Green Street
Bus users and parents are asked to check the local media, social media and the Connex website for up-to-date information.
