2 changes to the Freeview service received by Islanders will take place on Wednesday 29 February.
The first will only affect viewers served by the relay transmitters in St Helier, St Brelade and Alderney. In these areas, some channels are being moved to new frequencies and viewers will need to retune their digital TVs or boxes to restore them. This is the start of a process which will take place across the UK over the next 2 years to clear airwaves for 4G mobile broadband services.
The second change, happening on the same day, is the launch of ITV2 and ITV3 on Freeview across all the Channel Islands.
In both cases, it is recommended that viewers retune their equipment to make sure they have all available channels. Local advertising and on-screen messages will also be used in the coming weeks to make people aware of the need to retune.
