Statement from the Minister for Social Security, Senator Francis Le Gresley:
“Following the technical problems experienced by NatWest Bank in recent days, we would like to assure customers of the department who are in receipt of benefits that all payments have been made to their accounts as normal.
“Any customers experiencing difficulty in accessing their funds should contact their branch of NatWest directly.
“We have been informed by NatWest (which is part of the RBS group) that customers who need to access funds should go to their local branch with proof of identification where a cashier will be able to help them.”
