Lecq Clay Target Club, a Jersey shooting club which operates from Leoville in St Ouen, has been given permission to rebuild its club house and ammunitions store.
It follows a meeting of the Planning Applications Panel today which considered 15 agenda items.
These included a request for the panel to reconsider an application had previously been refused for an agricultural shed at Field No.157, La Rue de la Hauteur, St Lawrence. The panel heard the case made by the applicant and accepted that he had made a sound case for the approval, despite not exactly fitting the criteria set out in the planning policy.
The panel also approved an application from the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club to vary a condition of its permit which allowed only younger members to use its Chemin de la Belle Hougue site on the north coast. The area may now be used by all age groups for a trial period of two years.
The panel heard from a number of objectors and supporters of the proposal, but on balance decided the application to vary the condition was acceptable because it would have no discernible impact on noise or disturbance coming from the site. The temporary restriction has been added so that any effects could be assessed over the two-year period.
