At approximately 8am the Combined Control Centre received a telephone call from Police Control advising the Ambulance Service and Fire and Rescue Service of an road traffic control accident involving two vehicles on Mont Le Vaux.
An ambulance, a specialist Fire and Rescue Unit, one fire appliance and one Fire and Rescue Duty Manager Vehicle from Red Watch were despatched to the incident.
One person was confirmed as trapped in their vehicle. This was not by injury but due to the nature of the damage to the vehicle doors which prevented the driver from getting out. Fire crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the driver of the white van and he was then taken to hospital by the ambulance crew.
Watch Commander Ryan Hall said: "Whilst we have had a few days of dry weather, the rain has made road surfaces slippery which reminds drivers to take care when driving".
