The June unemployment report published by the Statistics Unit shows that:
- on a seasonally adjusted basis, the total number of people registered as unemployed and actively seeking work (ASW) in Jersey was 40 lower than a month earlier (May 2012) and 10 lower than the average for the preceding 3 months
- the non-seasonally adjusted ASW total was 1,720. This latest monthly total is at the same level as a month earlier (May 2012) and 440 higher than that of a year earlier (June 2011). It is 610 higher than that of 2 years earlier (June 2010)
- long-term unemployment (registered for more than 52 weeks) now accounts for more than 1 in 6 of total ASW
- 280 teenagers aged 16-19 years were registered as ASW, some 20 higher than a month earlier. 120 teenagers were on the Advance to Work scheme
