The 2013 edition of the Jersey Annual Social Survey (JASS) has been released today (22 November) by the States of Jersey Statistics Unit.
JASS collects and analyses detailed information on a wide range of social issues on an annual basis. It provides official social statistics about Jersey, allowing everyone in the Island to have a better understanding of social issues and for policy to be made from a more informed standpoint.
The Statistics Unit runs the survey, and produces and publishes the results independently, with the included topic areas being requested by individual departments. The survey has a set of core questions covering key characteristics of the population, along with questions on a range of different issues.
Some of the topics covered in the latest edition include:
- employment and careers
- getting involved in Government (voting, consultations)
- information sources (internet, social networking)
- money matters
- housing
- leisure time and quality of life
- health
- travel to work
- public facilities
