Five people were treated for smoke inhalation, two of which were taken to hospital, following a serious flat fire in St Helier on Friday 22 November 2013.
Firefighters received a call 4.30pm and two fire engines were immediately sent to a block of flats in town, which was filling up with thick black smoke and a number of residents were suffering from smoke inhalation. Four fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and located the fire in a flat on the first floor. Once the fire had been extinguished the area was cleared using a positive pressure fan.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is being carried out.
