The Treasury and Resources Minister has welcomed the report ‘Public Audit in Jersey’, published this week by the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), Karen McConnell.
Senator Philip Ozouf said “I welcome this recent report by the Comptroller and Auditor General, which clearly sets out policies for the introduction and good governance of a Jersey Audit Office, including a Board to ensure accountability.
“The proposals for this new Office are based on the highest international standards and best practice in other jurisdictions.
“I also wholeheartedly support the report’s recommendations for the remit of the CAG, which are designed to create efficiencies, streamline processes and, most importantly, to reinforce the independent function of the Office.”
