Transport and Technical Services (TTS) is proposing to install six new bus shelters and wants to hear any comments on the sites chosen.
TTS is committed to achieving the objectives of the States of Jersey Sustainable Transport Policy, which aims to reduce peak hour traffic by 15%. Increasing the number of people travelling by bus is part of the overall strategy. It is hoped that by creating a better environment at bus stops, more people will use the bus.
Over the last couple of years, TTS installed 18 new shelters across the Island. They have now identified an additional six sites where new bus shelters could be put up, but before they do so, they are giving the public an opportunity to comment on the proposals. The locations are:
- Grouville Arsenal (Southbound)
- Corbiere
- Clos des Sables (East bound)
- Rozel terminus
- Dicq Slipway (Westbound)
- Midland Stores (Southbound)
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed shelters can do so by email or by writing to Transport and Technical Services by 14 February 2014.
