Chinese business delegation visits Jersey

19 September 2014

The Director General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Mr Ning Lin, will lead a delegation of senior Chinese business people during a visit to the Island on 20 and 21 September.

The delegation, which includes representatives of prominent Chinese banks and financial institutions, as well as the Deputy Director of the China Enterprises Association in Britain, will meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Economic Development Minister, Senator Alan Maclean. They will also meet the Lieutenant-Governor, His Excellency General Sir John McColl, and representatives of the local business and financial services community.

Senator Gorst said “China is the world’s second largest economy and it is important for the ongoing prosperity of the Island that we continue to build strong links between our two governments and our business communities. I am very pleased to be hosting the delegation led by Mr Ning and I look forward to introducing them to Jersey and the world-class services that we offer.”

The delegation will also visit Gorey Castle and the coin hoard exhibition at the Jersey Museum.
