The Minister for Planning and Environment, Deputy Steve Luce, is inviting Islanders to have their say on the regeneration of St Helier at workshops in May.
The workshops are taking place on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May at the Town Hall. Stakeholder groups and organisations that represent people who live, work or have an interest in St Helier are invited to attend a full day workshop on Saturday 30 May (9am to 4pm). The second day ‘drop-in’ workshop on Sunday 31 May (9.30am to midday) is open to all.
The regeneration of St Helier is a priority for the Council of Ministers and the workshops will explore what the vision for St Helier might mean to those that live, work or have an interest in town. The Minister wants to listen to people’s views about the future of St Helier and find out what matters and why.
The workshop event will focus on three themes:
- travel and transport
- urban living and environment
- identity and community.
Regeneration
Deputy Luce said "The regeneration of St Helier is a key priority for the Council of Ministers and it is important that we listen to those with a stake in its future – residents, businesses and others who use and visit – to understand what is important to them in developing our plans for the future of our capital. These initial workshops will help us better understand what is valued and the areas we need to focus on."
People representing a stakeholder group or organisation and who are interested in attending the workshop on Saturday 30 May must register in advance by contacting the department.

The drop-in on Sunday 31 May between 9.30am and midday is open to everyone. Attendees will be able to see feedback from the Saturday workshop and can share their views and leave feedback.
