The Minister for the Environment, Deputy Steve Luce, is inviting Island residents to have a say on plans for the regeneration of St Helier at workshops in September.
The workshops are taking place on Saturday 17 September at the Town Hall. Stakeholder groups and organisations that represent people who live, work or have an interest in St Helier are invited to attend a workshop session in the morning (from 9 am to 12.30 pm) or in the afternoon (from 1.15 to 4.45 pm).
The regeneration of St Helier is a strategic priority and the workshops will explore work already carried out to respond to the challenges and priorities for the town that people identified at a public engagement event last year. Attendees will be asked to give their views about proposals that Ministers have for new traffic management change in town and public open space.
Public open space
Deputy Luce said "The regeneration of St Helier is a priority for the Council of Ministers. At the last consultation event we listened to what people said was important to them and why. These workshops in September will provide us with an opportunity to tell people what we have been doing in response to the challenges that they identified. It will also allow us to get their views on some of the short, medium and long-term plans and proposals that we have developed. We want to focus, at this event, on traffic management and public open space.”
People representing a stakeholder group or organisation and who are interested in attending a workshop on Saturday 17 September must register in advance by contacting the Department of the Environment.

Previous public engagement
In May 2015, a public workshop was held with people who had an interest in the future of the town, including residents, retailers, business leaders and representatives from community groups.
The consultation responses from the workshop have shaped and guided the work to regenerate the town.
