Employers in the hospitality industry have until Monday 14 March to register to attend a Hospitality Job Match recruitment event being held on Tuesday 15 March.
Hospitality Job Match is a chance for employers to meet and interview prospective staff ahead of the coming tourism season. It is one element of the Back to Work Hospitality Campaign which aims to reduce unemployment by training jobseekers and developing the essential skills needed to work in the hospitality industry; which is vital to the Island’s economy. Through the Hospitality Paid Training Initiative, the States is also offering employers access to financial support, worth up to £1,155 per employee, for recruiting and training locally qualified jobseekers who are new to the industry.
Interviews
The event, organised by Back to Work, is being held at Mimosa, Liberty Wharf and has, so far, attracted over 15 of the Island’s leading hospitality employers. The jobseekers they will meet and interview are all locally-qualified candidates who have been invited and pre-screened by Back to Work.
The Social Security Assistant Minister, Deputy Graham Truscott, said “This is a great opportunity to match locally qualified jobseekers, who want to work in hospitality, with employers who need to recruit staff ahead of the busy tourism season. We are trying to save employers time and money by gathering our best candidates together in one place, so they can meet selected candidates, conduct initial interviews, and make their recruitment decisions quickly and easily.”

The event is at the Mimosa on Tuesday 15 March from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Candidates must register to attend the Hospitality Job Match, so anyone interested should contact their Back to Work Advisor.
