The house price report for the first quarter of 2016 has been released by the States Statistics Unit.
In the first quarter of 2016:
- on a rolling four-quarter basis, the mix-adjusted average price of dwellings sold in Jersey during the year ending Q1 2016 was essentially unchanged compared with the previous quarter (ending Q4 2015)
- on a quarterly basis:
- the seasonally adjusted mix-adjusted average price in Q1 2016 was 1% lower than in the previous quarter and 2% higher than the corresponding quarter in 2015 (Q1 2015)
- 3- bedroom houses together with 1- and 2- bedroom flats all recorded lower mean prices than in the previous quarter
- 4- bedroom houses recorded higher mean prices than in the previous quarter
- the turnover of properties in Q1 2016 was lower than in the previous quarter and higher than in the corresponding quarter in 2015
- overall housing market activity, on a rolling four-quarter basis, was 1% higher than in the previous quarter (Q4 2015) and 11% higher than the corresponding quarter of 2015 (Q1 2015)
