Zebra crossings are planned for two new sites, one across Dumaresq Street at the junction with York Street and a further two across Beresford Street and Peter Street, at the junction with Bath Street.
The Minister for Infrastructure and the Connétable of St Helier have agreed the trial as the proposals are consistent with The Future St Helier plans and are an important step in improving pedestrian facilities in the town.
Repairs to the road surface in Peter Street, required in advance, will be carried out over two evenings during the week commencing 3 May. The zebra markings will be carried out early in the morning, weather permitting, to reduce disruption as far as possible.
