The resurfacing work on La Grande Route de St Laurent is almost finished and the road will be reopened a day early to traffic in both directions by 6pm today (25 August 2016).
There will still be some minor work to complete, but this will not require a full road closure. The resurfacing work, from Mont Cambrai to La Ruelle, started on 18 July and was undertaken during the summer school holidays to minimise disruption to this important arterial route.
The Connétable of St Lawrence, Deidre Mezbourian, commented “I am very pleased with the new safety improvements and would like to thank everybody for putting up with the disruption.”
