Car parking charges to increase

17 January 2017

Car parking charges are to go up by around 2% next month (Februray 2017). It's the first increase since 2015.

From 1 February 2017, the cost of parking will be increased by 2p per unit / hour, going from 76p to 78p.

Income from parking charges goes into the Jersey Car Parking Trading account which pays for the administration of car parking as well as the cost of upkeep and refurbishment of the 82 public car parks in Jersey. It also funds sustainable transport and road safety improvements.

Last year, Sand Street car park underwent major refurbishment as did Pier Road in 2015. This year Minden Street car park will be refurbished.  It is important to keep up with the programme to get the greatest viable lifespan out of these buildings.
