The new Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC) at La Collette operated by the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has been shortlisted for the MRW National Recycling Awards 2017.
DfI submitted an entry in January 2017 under the ‘Private-Public Sector Partnership’ category and has been shortlisted with ten other projects from all over the UK. The Department now has to present a more detailed submission in May and they will eventually find out if they are successful at the end of June.
The partnership team involved in the design and construction of the HRRC are: DfI, Riva Architects, Camerons Construction, Henderson Green Consulting Engineers (M&E), WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff (Designers), T&G Structural Engineers and Acorn Enterprises.
Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Eddie Noel, said “This is fantastic news and well deserved for the team who were determined to bring the concept of recycling through the design and construction as well as being the function of the centre. Fingers crossed we are successful when it comes to the final.”
