Seven frontline professionals who work to safeguard vulnerable children and adults in Jersey will be recognised at an awards ceremony tomorrow.
The Safeguarding Partnership Board awards are being held on 28 March.
Professionals from a number of agencies have been nominated for the awards which are being given in recognition of an outstanding contribution towards Safeguarding in Jersey.
The frontline professionals receiving awards this year are:
Glenn De La Haye – Social Security
Pc Jo Carter - Police
Laura Osmand – SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) Co-ordinator
Janette Urquhart – (Probation)
Jenny Querns (Family Nursing and Home Care)
Graham Ramsden (Education)
Karen Ogilvie (Pre-school manager, St Peter’s)
The Independent Chair of the Safeguarding Partnership Board, Glenys Johnston, OBE, who will present the awards tomorrow, said: “It is important that we recognise the invaluable contribution all frontline professionals make in safeguarding vulnerable children and adults in Jersey; without their commitment and effort, safeguarding would not be effective.”
The Safeguarding Partnership Board brings together agencies which work to protect children and adults from harm by co-ordinating what is done by each agency for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults in Jersey; promoting understanding of the need and means to protect children and adults from harm and monitoring and ensuring the effectiveness of the safeguarding systems that are in place, both within and between organisations in Jersey.
