Care providers, and people who use care services, are being asked for comments on amended regulations which fall under the Regulation of Care Law (the 2014 Law).
The 2014 Law is due to come into force later this year, once the States Assembly has debated the amended regulations.
The regulations describe:
- the types of care services to be regulated
- the requirements for care providers to meet certain standards: for example, standards of cleanliness, infection control and medicine management, and the need to keep people safe
The Regulations were first issued for consultation in 2017 and were amended in response to the feedback received. They are now being published for comment before being lodged for debate by the States Assembly.
The Head of Professional and Care Regulation, Christine Blackwood, said: “We are publishing the amended Regulations for comment because we want ensure that all the main stakeholders understand what is proposed before the amendments are lodged for debate by the States Assembly.
“Anyone who has any comments or questions, regardless of whether they are a provider of care, a care-user or a friend or family member, can contact me directly.”
