Students in Jersey have maintained the high standards achieved last year, with our young people achieving a higher pass rate than those in England.
The overall pass rate for Jersey’s A-level results is 98.8 per cent, which is in line with 2018, and above the 97.5 per cent pass rate for England.
In 2019, 59.5 per cent of entries resulted in grades A*, A or B, similar to results in 2018. Grades at A* and A accounted for 29.6 per cent of all results compared to 25.2 per cent in England.
This year a total of 480 Jersey pupils were entered for 1,298 A-level examinations.

Pupils who took the International Baccalaureate (IB) this year have achieved a 95.5 per cent pass rate with an average point score of 32.6. This compares to a worldwide pass rate of 77.4 per cent and average point score of 29.6.
Education Minister Senator Tracey Vallois said: "I would like to offer my congratulations to the students: you did your best, you made an effort and, whatever the results, you are valued. Well done for all your hard work and perseverance. To all the teachers, parents, carers and families, I would like to offer my thanks for all the support you give our young people."

Students going on to higher education should now contact their universities as soon as possible to confirm places. Students who did not achieve the grades they were expecting, either higher or lower, should contact the careers teacher at their school or college, or the Skills Jersey Careers Advice and Guidance Team, which is open Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.00pm on +44 (0)1534 449440.
Government of Jersey offers financial support to those taking part in Higher Education studies. Three dedicated drop-in sessions, offering information, advice and guidance, will be held next week at the offices of Skills Jersey located at Bermuda House, Green Street, St Helier JE2 4JH.
At these sessions islanders will also be offered help and support to compete their student finance application form for the academic year 2019/20. The drop-in sessions will be held on:
