On Thursday, 22 August 2019, Jersey Customs and Immigration officers stopped a UK registered vehicle, which had arrived in the island on the Condor Liberation from Poole.
Officers subsequently searched the car, and a commercial consignment of cannabis was found concealed in the vehicle. The drugs have an estimated local street local value of £300,000.
The male driver of the vehicle, resident in Liverpool, has been charged with importing the drugs into Jersey and is due to appear in Court this morning (Friday, 23 August 2019).
