The Chief Minister has commissioned a report from Statistics Jersey, which estimates government receipts and expenditure for Jersey households.
The report, published today, was commissioned last year and provides estimates of the level of government receipts and expenditure, to and from individual Jersey households.
The Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, said: “Developing a new population policy requires government to find a balance between controlling the impact on our Island, and still attracting the skills we need to maintain a mixed economy.
"That means making choices that are founded on objective evidence and hard data. This independent Statistics Jersey report, which I commissioned in the summer of 2018, will be a valuable contribution to the long-term thinking and policy discussions that we need to have in order to decide upon a sustainable population policy.
"Work is underway on other areas of evidence, which will assist us as we develop these policy proposals.”
