Grouville Common shared-use track completed

The Government has worked with contractors Pallot Tarmac and Brenwal to undertake groundworks and asphalt surfacing to the existing shared foot and cycle path in Grouville.

£235,000 has been spent for work improving the path between Lavender Villa and Pres de Douet and along La Rue de la Ville es Renaud adjacent to the Royal Jersey Golf Club, covering a stretch of almost 1.5 kilometres.

Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Kevin Lewis said: “It is very encouraging hearing the feedback from Islanders using the path. This project, along with cycle and walk networks around the Island, is vital in supporting our Sustainable Transport Policy and is another step in reaching our target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.”

“These improvements to the off-road path between Gorey Village and Ville es Renaud have made it a more desirable route to walk, run, cycle, and scooter, making it easier and more convenient for the community to travel sustainably.” 

"Grouville School pupils will also now enjoy a safer route to the school in line with our Safer Routes to School programme.”
