Covid Status Certificates include dose administered outside of Jersey

27 August 2021

Islanders who received one Covid-19 vaccination dose in Jersey and one dose outside of Jersey will now be able to record both doses on their vaccination record and apply for a Jersey issued Covid Status Certificate (CSC) showing both doses.

Islanders requiring this can complete a form online and upload evidence of the dose administered outside of Jersey. Acceptable evidence includes images of either:

  • a Government or Health Authority issued vaccination appointment card
  • a Government or Health Authority app showing vaccination status
  • a GP record showing vaccination status

Applications will be reviewed by the vaccination team to ensure it meets the eligibility criteria. Once approved, the Islander's vaccination record will be updated, and a secure paper CSC will be issued. This process may take up to two weeks to complete from the point of application submission.

Once an individual's vaccination record is updated to show both doses and they have received their paper certificate, they will be eligible to apply for a QR code certificate for use in the French Pass Sanitaire system.

The paper certificates will be sent to Islanders registered address. If applicants have moved recently, they should ensure their residential address is up to date online or call Customer and Local Services on 01534 444444.

The Government continues to work on a fully digital CSC and is working with the UK Government to ensure that Jersey's paper and digital certificates are recognised elsewhere in the world.

Deputy Chief Minister, Senator Lyndon Farnham, said: "I am pleased that we will now be able to issue a single Covid Status Certificate showing full vaccination status from multiple jurisdictions. It is good that we can now resolve the issue which has been faced by a number of Islanders, particularly university students who have received one dose in the UK and one dose in Jersey.

"It will take up to two weeks for an application to be approved and a certificate issued, I'd like to urge only those Islanders who are due to travel within the next few weeks to complete the form so that they receive first priority. Additionally, university students who may have delayed getting vaccinated due to worries about how the Covid Status Certificate would work should no longer be concerned, and are recommended to get their first or second dose at the Vaccination Centre before heading off to university."

Islanders are welcome to walk in to the Vaccination Centre for their first dose without an appointment, or can book their first dose online at the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments page or by ringing the Covid helpline. If Islanders are walking in without an appointment for their second dose, they must ensure that 28 days or more have passed since the first dose was administered.
