A new chair and two new members have been appointed to the Statistics Users Group. Gailina Liew will now chair the group, and she is joined by two new members, Lianne Dacres and Emma-Louise Veitch.
This follows a recruitment exercise conducted in accordance with the Jersey Appointments Commission guidelines.
The Chief Minister, Senator John le Fondré, said: "I am pleased to be welcoming these new members to the Statistics Users Group. This is an unpaid, independent body which oversees the quality, relevance and integrity of statistics, and it performs a crucial role."
The current Chair, Auberon Ashbrooke, has been acting in an interim capacity pending a permanent appointment. He will remain a member and will continue to contribute to the work of the Statistics Users Group.
The Chief Minister added: "I want to thank all the members of the Group, and I look forward to their input into the ongoing work to strengthen legislation and safeguard the independence of our statistics."
