Tree Strategy survey

Islanders are being asked for their views and feedback on key themes raised in two recent workshops, as part of the development of Jersey's Tree Strategy.

40 stakeholders, including environmental groups, local businesses, developers and farmers, met online in July to share ideas and discuss the Tree Strategy's potential priorities for protecting the Island's tree stock.

Islanders are now being given the opportunity to have their say through a survey online. Engagement packs will soon be available at Parish Halls for those without internet access.

Assistant Minister for the Environment, Deputy Gregory Guida, said: "Our new Tree Strategy and planned changes to the law will help us as a Government better protect and manage Jersey's trees, which is hugely important, particularly in light of the climate emergency that we're facing.

"I'd like to thank those who joined our workshops which has really kick-started this process, and I now encourage Islanders to review the main themes and share their thoughts through this online engagement survey."

The outcomes of the wider public engagement will then be used to inform a second round of workshops in September, with the Tree Strategy due to be published early in 2022.
