Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet has appointed Mr Alan Moore as the
Principal Expert Adviser to support the Our Hospital review team.
Alan will provide expert advice to the Government’s evidence-based review into
whether changes can be made to the Our Hospital Project to deliver a more
affordable and appropriate alternative. He has recently visited Northern Ireland with
Deputy Binet to inspect four healthcare sites (three new builds and one extensive
redevelopment) which provided exemplar options of working modern healthcare
facilities.
Alan, who has already provided advice to the Department for Infrastructure, Housing
and Environment on how to improve its project team, is an internationally respected
professional with extensive experience of managing and delivering large projects
especially in the health sector. He was not personally nor professionally known to
Chief Executive Suzanne Wylie, also from Northern Ireland, before his appointment.
Alan will be responsible for the delivery of the completed report in accordance with
the approved scope of the review.
Constructive meetings have already taken place with various hospital project
stakeholders and more sessions are planned to engage with further stakeholder
groups over the coming weeks.
The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet, said: “I’m delighted to have Alan on
board to advise on the review. He’s an extremely down to earth, practical individual,
and just the sort of person we need to assist us in drafting a workable plan to develop
our future health care facilities.’’
“The visits to Northern Ireland provided a great insight into some of the options
which are working successfully over there and could work well in Jersey. I look
forward to presenting the review findings later next month.”
The Our Hospital review team also includes the Minister for Health and Social
Services, Deputy Karen Wilson and Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services,
Deputy Rose Binet.
