“I am aware that a body has been recovered from the wreck of the L’Ecume II by the teams
who are working on the recovery operation.
“My thoughts and prayers remain with the Michieli family at this very difficult time, while
the formal identification process takes place.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Islanders and our local media for their continued
focus on providing the dignified, community focused response that makes Jersey stand out
among nations.
“The space and privacy provided to the teams working on the recovery efforts is ensuring
that they complete the operation in the most appropriate and necessary way.”
