Resurfacing work will start on one of the westbound lanes of the Esplanade from this Saturday 21 October, and run for one week.
The Esplanade and Victoria Avenue will remain open in both directions as usual, but diversions will be in place between 21 and 29 October.
The work, on one of the busiest stretches of road in the Island, is scheduled during October half term to minimise travel delays. However, Islanders are advised to give themselves more time for their journeys, particularly those going to the General Hospital.
Motorists travelling from the east and wishing to access Patriotic Street Car Park are recommended to use Castle Street. Access to Kensington Place and Westpark roundabout from the east will not be possible, and there will be diversions in place at Rue du Galet and St Aubin's Inner Road for the duration of work.
The scheduled work is essential as some sections were last improved more than 20 years ago. It is the third year that work has been carried out on this road, with a different lane being worked on each year to minimise disruption.
