Janvrin School has been reviewed as part of the Jersey Schools Review Framework. The full report is available online.
The review was led by an experienced off-Island reviewer and consisted of a total of four reviewers who visited the school over three days in late September.
During the review, the team sampled pupils' work across all year groups and a range of subjects. They heard pupils read, observed break-times and lunchtimes, and spoke to pupils to gather their views of the school. The view of parents and staff were also considered through surveys.
Headteacher of Janvrin School, Iain George, said: "Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and I am delighted that the review highlights the work we have done to build a truly inclusive space. In conjunction with this, I am delighted that the high levels of progress and achievement made by pupils is rightly recognised.
"I would like to thank all the staff for their dedication and the senior leadership team who work closely with me to ensure our pupils live our values every day. The school review was a professional and committed process and I am grateful to the team for their thoughtful recommendations. I am looking forwards to continuing our hard work alongside our highly talented pupils and staff."
The Jersey Schools Review Framework was piloted across Government schools from 2016 – 2019. After a pause during COVID, review visits have restarted and will continue throughout the 2023 – 2024 academic year.
Reviews take place every three years and consider the environment in the school, the standards of learning, teaching and achievement, the behaviour and personal development of pupils, and the effectiveness of school leadership.
