Trinity Improvement Scheme to begin

23 October 2023

A Parish Improvement Scheme will get under way at the end of this month following a thorough engagement period with the community.

Work to install a pedestrian crossing and a zone with reduced speed limits – both designed to improve road safety in the area - will begin on Tuesday 31 October.

A raised-table pedestrian crossing is to be installed on La Rue es Picots between Le Grand Clos and Les Maisons Cabot, creating a key walking connection into Trinity Village and helping to slow traffic.

Speed limit changes will be introduced in the parish, with a number of 30mph roads being reduced to 20mph, and a number of 40mph roads being reduced to 30mph and 20mph.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve found a suitable way forward with the residents of the Parish following a thorough and robust consultation process, as a result of which we have made fairly substantial alterations.”

Connétable of Trinity, Philip Le Sueur, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Parishioners who attended, and provided constructive comments at, both the exhibition in July and, more recently, last Thursday’s Parish Meeting. I can assure everyone that all comments received were carefully considered and I am confident that the heart of the parish will now become a safer environment for all who use it.

“My thanks also extend to the Minister and his officers, the Parish Project Board, and the Roads Committee, who have worked hard for the last two years on the proposals for improving safety in the heart of the parish.”
