Islanders are being reminded to call 999 in an emergency, following a spate of misplaced calls to the Justice and Home Affairs administration team.
Recently, staff have received a number of emergency calls from people who thought they were phoning the Ambulance or Fire Services.
These calls then have to be transferred through to the Emergency Services Control Centre, losing valuable time to the patient or incident in an emergency.
It is believed the error occurs when people search “ambulance jersey", or “fire jersey" on the internet on their phone and press the call icon on the business listing without realising it is an administration number and will not go through to 999.
In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the service you require.
